Product Description

Voltage: 120V AC. Can be installed as a single pole or 3-way switch (please refer to wiring instructions below). The fine-tune adjustment dial eliminates LED/CFL flickering. No screws are needed to fasten the wall plate, giving it a seamless look. This dimmer is compatible with all types of household lighting, except for smart lights that are controlled by WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.

Single Pole/3-way Circuit Installation

Single Pole: Connect the green dimmer ground wire to the ground wire in the wall-box. Connect the black dimmer wire to the hot input wire that was removed from the switch. Connect either of the two red dimmer wires to the light fixture wire that was removed from the switch. Use a wire nut to cap the remaining red wire on the dimmer.

3-way: Connect the green dimmer ground wire to the ground wire in the wall-box. Connect the black dimmer wire to the TAG wire that was removed from the switch. Connect the red dimmer wires to the remaining wires that were removed from the switch.

Manual Control

To adjust the dimming performance and eliminate flickering, turn the adjustment dial counter-clockwise when the light starts to flicker. Set the slider to a position where there is no hum or flickering on the light fixtures.

Screw-free Wall Plate

Install the dimmer and mounting frame with the tabs facing down. After tuning the adjustment dial, attach the screw-free wall plate.

Cloudy Bay dimmer ensures proper operation of dimmable CFLs and LEDs by eliminating flicker. It is compatible with various types of bulbs, including CFLs, LEDs, and incandescent bulbs.

Troubleshooting

1. Light flashes in the entire dimming range:
2. Check if the lighting/lamp is dimmable.
3. The lighting fixture may not be compatible with our dimmer.
4. Most dimmable LEDs and CFLs cannot achieve as low level as incandescent or halogen sources.

5. Controlling a group of lighting fixtures/lamps with one dimmer may cause flicker. Use dimmers for lights/lamps of the same type or model.

6. Light flashes in low dimming range:

7. Turn the adjustment dial slightly counter-clockwise for full compatibility with the lights.

8. Obtain a dimmer list from the light bulb/lighting fixture supplier to avoid compatibility issues with our dimmer. A broad dimmer list means fewer issues like flickering, buzzing, or flashing. It is also recommended to purchase FCC-compliant lighting products for stable performance.

Note: For 3-way single pole compatibility, if the UP position is off (DOWN is on) after wiring, try switching around the two red wires to reverse the on/off direction.

Our dimmer switch is fully compatible with Cloudy Bay LED light fixtures. It can control up to 600W of incandescent bulbs or 150W of dimmable LED/CFL bulbs. It operates at 120VAC and 60Hz. The trim dial below the cover plate allows sensitivity adjustment during installation to achieve compatibility with LED lamps. The decorative wall plate and mounting screws are included.
